Battle Cry
By Lew Andrew L. Rodill

Dedicated to all the people who have died from gun violence. Rest in Peace.

Hook This is a battle cry
As so many live to die
While others break down and cry
So trust in Jesus Christ
As this is my battle cry
(Repeat)

I Gunshots echo in the night
As innocents lose their life
In the distance a parent cries
Why oh why did my child have to die?
Rate of homicide getting high
When so many live to die
Don’t blame media as many say
Though media portrays it anyways
Just to earn big top pay
Night and day endless
Chants of amazing grace
As many fall into societies race
Don’t realize life is so fast paced
As so many learn the hard way
Trying to find the easiest pathway
Which sometimes drugs and alcohol
Come into play

Hook

II Everyone wants a wild and crazy life
But don’t want to pay the price
How long can we survive as
Media takes on our lives
Brainwashed subliminally
Following society subconsciously
The evil one plays with our minds
Has too many bound and tied
I pray for those to see the light of Christ
So many walking in the shadow of death
Hoping and wishing they don’t
Face their one last breath
Just gotta get this off my chest
We are becoming ammunition
For Satan’s demolition

Hook

III So many clutched in the Devil’s arms
Being deceived by demonic charms
Living in a world full of harm
The Son of God will pull many away
From the burning flames
Teach how to beat and play Satan’s games
Is my mind playing tricks on me?
Or is it the Devil deceiving me
As I struggle and pray to break free
Though it’s not working so I
Pray to the saints to free me from
Saint Augustine to Saint Francis of Assisi

Hook
