Finch Flood - August 19, 2005

The area where Black Creek flows under Finch Avenue West was washed out during the heavy rainstorm of August 19, 2005. The floods destroyed a 2-lane main road. It will take 3-4 months to fix. The crater that is Finch Avenue will cost approximately 5 million dollars to repair. The City of Toronto has said that insurance would pay most of the cost. During the repair time, the TTC buses (36 Finch) will be diverted, going through Grandravine Dr. The walkway has been recently restored allowing for pedestrians to walk along Finch Avenue again.
